Adult Services
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program
Alpine County HHS administers the California Department of Social Service’s IHSS program.  County residents may complete an application to determine if they meet the income and status eligibility for those services. The IHSS program will help pay for services provided to disabled persons so that they may remain in their homes. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities.

Services which may be provided through IHSS are housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services, accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired. For more detailed information regarding eligibility for this program contact the HHS office at 530.694.2235.
