Description
Transportation Assistance
Are you a CalWORKs client who is in school, working or in a training program? Have you received CalWORKs in the last year? If so, you may be eligible for transportation services. CalWORKs can pay for bus passes and BART fare. In some cases, CalWORKs pays you if you use a car.
Eligibility
People who now get CalWORKs may be eligible for transportation services. If you have a car, you can get the current cash value of a monthly bus pass. If your one-way trip to work or school takes more than one hour by bus or BART, then you may be eligible to be paid a set amount per each mile that you drive.
How to apply
To learn more about transportation benefits and find out if you qualify, please telephone your Employment Counselor (EC). If you do not know who your EC is, dial one of the following numbers:
- (510) 891-0700 North County
- (510) 670-6000 South County
- (510) 383-5300 East County
